Seward-Branched Oak Lake CBC Feeder/Yard Checklist

Listed below are species which might be seen at feeders in the winter time in Nebraska. The relative abundance of each species is listed in parentheses (a = abundant; c = common;

u = uncommon; r = rare). Most everyone who feeds birds should have common and abundant species visiting their feeders depending on what food they use. Uncommon species would probably be seen at some feeders in town (less than half). Rare species would not be seen in town most years. They should not be expected or looked for. If you have a bird which you are not sure of, it might be one of these species. There are records for these species occasionally showing up.

Since it is likely that the same individual birds visit your feeder throughout the day, the number of a particular species at your feeder would be the highest number seen at one time unless you are able to tell the difference between two individuals of the same species (i.e., males and females of many species have different markings and can be told apart). You may use this sheet to tally or keep track of the birds you see. Please fill out the information at the bottom of the page.
