Call for Papers, Panels, and Workshops

The North Carolina Criminal Justice Association, America’s oldest state-level academic criminal justice organization, invites submissions for papers, complete panels, and workshops for our 2011 conference. Papers, panels, and workshops should be intended for professors/instructors, students, and/or practitioners working in criminal justice.

The annual conference will be held February 17-19, 2011 in Raleigh North Carolina at the Homewood Suites at Crabtree Valley. All rooms are two-room suites with either King ($89 per night) or two double beds ($99 per night) with an additional sleeper couch and flat screen TVs in each room. Each room includes a full kitchen (stove, microwave, refrigerator, etc.) as well as a desk area. Room rates include free parking, wireless Internet, a hot breakfast each morning, and a dinner Thursday night of the conference.

The theme of the conference is Criminal Justice Practice in North Carolina: Past, Present, and Future. Your paper, panel, or workshop can be about any topic relevant to criminal justice in North Carolina.

We encourage you to submit an abstract of no more than 100 words, along with a title and your contact information, to Matthew Robinson (NCCJA President) at: . The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2010.

You are also welcome to submit a completed panel comprised of no more than four papers. Finally, we welcome the submission of workshops suitable for undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and/or working professionals.

The registration fee for the 2011 conference will be only $45 (members) / $65 (nonmembers) / $10 (students). This includes all conference materials as well as a hot breakfast buffet each morning, an awards luncheon, and an opening night reception with dinner and drinks.
