NOTES TO STUDENTS

  1. This form is only applicable to 3-year curriculum UGC-fundedfull-time undergraduate degree students who enrol on a programme offeringmajor/minor study or double degree optionsand wish to take adifferent study route instead of continuing with the single discipline degree programme. Their maximum period of registration will count from their first registration on the programme but not from the date when they join the new study route.
  1. For students who wish to take a major/minor or double degreestudy route which is not offered within their current programme, they should apply for transfer of study to another programme which offers such options first by completing Form AS25 and upon approval, submit Form AS113 to the department hosting the new programme. Please note that year one new admittees will not be considered for transfer to another programme offered in the same mode of study in their first semester of study.
  1. It is the responsibility of the students to ensure that they have fulfilled the enrolment requirement, if any, for the programmes they apply for. Students may seek advice from the academic advisor of the department offering the programmes before submitting the declaration form. Students should check in particular whether the major/minor or the double degree option will entitle them the same professional recognition as the single-discipline degree programme.
  1. The application period for major/minor study route is the first 3 weeks from the commencement of the 2nd semester in the first year of registration.
  1. The application deadline for double degree study route is specified in the respective definitive programme document or by their programme hosting department. Students should submit the declaration according to the stipulated deadline.
  1. The completed declaration form (AS113) should be submitted to the faculty/department hosting the current programme by the deadline specified in points 4 or 5 above. Students are reminded to retain a copy of this form for their own reference.
  1. The department hosting the current programme will inform the students of the result of their application within 3 weeks after the close of the application period. Students should remain in their original programme until they are notified of the application result.
  1. Students should approach the academic advisor of the relevant faculty/department to seek advice on the selection of subjects for the programme they apply for. Students will normally be allowed to take the subjects offered under the new programme in Semester 1 right after the approval is given.
