JOB TITLE: Bright Beginnings – Project Coordinator

HOURS: 21 hours per week

SALARY: £16,255 (pro rata, based on full time salary of £27,866)

CONTRACT: Funding secured for 3 years, contract subject to 6 month probationary period.

JOB SUMMARY: The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of the new Bright Beginnings project which aims to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, new mothers and families from refugee and migrant backgrounds in Islington, Camden and Haringey.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Health Advocacy Project Manager

LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBLITY FOR: 5 part-time Maternity Mentors

LIAISON WITH: Health Advocacy Project Manager, Health Advocacy Project Worker, Maternity Mentors, relevant external service-providers and community organisations, Manor Gardens staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Bright Beginnings project and the delivery of project activities.

2. Line-manage 5 Bilingual Maternity Mentors, including arranging initial training, supporting their delivery of outreach, workshops, individual support and peer support groups and providing them with regular supervision and annual appraisals.

3. Organise and chair regular monthly project meetings.

4. Maintain up-to-date and appropriate records of all project activities.

5. Develop, organise and chair a quarterly Bright Beginnings Steering Group.

6. Work with the Health Advocacy Project Manager to ensure that project activities are reported to the project funder in a timely manner.

7. Ensure regular monitoring and reviews of the project and a fast and effective response to any problems or concerns arising.

8. Work with the Health Advocacy Project Manager and the external evaluator to ensure the effective evaluation of the project.

9. Organise and deliver a conference and the dissemination of an evaluation report at the end of the current Big Lottery funding.

10. Ensure accurate records of service-users and clients are kept in an appropriate and confidential manner, compliant with the Data Protection Act.

11. Work within and promote the Health and Safety, Child Protection and Safeguarding and Adult Safeguarding practices and procedures of the Manor Gardens Centre at all times.

12. Abide by and actively promote Manor Gardens Centre's Equal Opportunities Policy and all other policies in force in the carrying out of all responsibilities.

13. Be aware of the Centre's aims and objectives and treat beneficiaries, staff, volunteers and visitors with respect and consideration.
