What is the Teen Activist Project? The Teen Activist Project (TAP) is an exciting youth program that engages New York City teens as organizers and peer educators on civil rights and civil liberties. The program began as the Teen Health Initiative (THI) in 1997, focused on reproductive rights issues and minors’ rights to confidential health care. Today, TAP memberswork on a range of advocacy issuesincluding the rights of pregnant and parenting teens, student’s rights, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, immigrant’s rights, freedom of speech and religion - and more! We work to make sure the youth of NY know their rights and each year create and implement a campaign on issues the NYCLU works on.
