House Rules for SWSE

Jedi class has been eliminated. For a person who wishes to play a Jedi (or any other force-sensitive character). Force-users select what class they think best represents their vision of their character they can then trade a starting feat from that class for Force-Sensitive or Weapon Proficiency (Lightsaber) on a one-for-one basis. It they want both Force-Sensitive and Weapon Proficiency (Lightsaber) they trade two starting feats from their chosen class. Or just take them as standard feats for their level.

The word “Jedi” has been removed from the Jedi Consular, Jedi Guardian, and Jedi Sentinel talent trees. These talent trees have been moved to the general force talent trees and can be selected in the same manner as the Alter, Control, Dark Side or Sense talents, provided the character is a member of Jedi\Sith force-tradition.

The Adept Negotiator talent from the Consular Talent tree has been modified as follows:

Replace the last line of the talent with the following: If the target reaches the end of the condition track it does not fall unconscious; instead it cannot attack you or your allies for the remainder of the encounter. If the target is attacked (even if the character has not reached the end of the condition track), the target moves +1 step on the condition track and can now attack as normal. This is a mind-affecting effect.

The Lightsaber Combat Talent Tree is now a Jedi\Sith force-tradition talent tree and the talents from this tree may be taken by anyone who is a member of the Jedi or Sith force-tradition in the same manner as any other force tradition talent.

The Block and Deflect talents from the Lightsaber Combat Talent tree have been combined and renamed “Lightsaber Defense.” The talent now reads:

As a Swift action, you can use your Lightsaber to parry melee attacks and deflect ranged attacks, by making a successful Use the Force check DC 15. You gain a +1 deflection bonus to your Reflex Defense until the start of your next turn. For every 5 points by which you beat the DC, increase the bonus by +1.

The “Lightsaber Defense” talent from the Lightsaber Combat talent tree has been renamed “Improved Lightsaber Defense.” The talent now reads as follows: Whenever you use the Lightsaber Defense talent, increase the deflection bonus to Reflex Defense granted by the talent by +1.

You can take this talent multiple times; each time you take this talent the deflection bonus granted by this talent increases by +1 (maximum +3).

Prerequisite: Lightsaber Defense.

The “Redirect” talent from the Lightsaber Combat Talent tree now reads, whenever a blaster bolt is deflected through the use of your “Lightsaber Defense” talent (attack equals or exceeds Ref Def 10, but is deflected), you may attempt to redirect the blaster bolt so that it strikes another target.

The Acrobatics skill has been added to the Soldier’s list of class skills.

Skill Focus feat: This feat can be taken for any skill, regardless of the skills on your class skill list.

Armor provides Damage reduction equal to its armor bonus.Lightsabers ignore the DR provided by armor.

The Armored Defense talent adds 50% of the armor bonus from your armor to your Reflex Defense. The Improved Armored Defense talent adds 100% of the armor bonus to your Reflex defense.

The Force feats “Force Sensitivity, Force Boon, and Strong in the Force” confer a +1 force bonus for each feat taken to all Defenses, all attacks and all skills based on Dexterity, Strength and Constitution and the Perception skill.

Add the following line to The Force-Training feat, when taking the Force-Training feat you gain a number of force power slots equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier. You may use one force power per encounter for each slot you possess.
