PEMBURY ATHLETIC (YOUTH) FC FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT SUNDAY 21 MAY 2017

Pembury Athletic are delighted to be hosting our 14th small-sided soccer tournament. This will take place on Sunday 21st May at The Schools at Somerhill, Tonbridge. For sat nav users the post code is: TN11 ONJ. The school pitches provide an excellent playing surface and the school grounds offer a secure and attractive setting.

The pitches are almost adjacent to the A21 so providing ease of access with plenty of parking available on site.

We would like to invite your club and teams to participate; there will be football for age groups Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 12 and Under 13. Please note under FA Rule 4(a)(i) that a player who had not attained the age of 6 as of midnight on 31 August 2016 is not eligible to play in this tournament

This tournament is for grass roots clubs only (no academies). County League teams will

be required to play up a year group. The likely order of play is as follows;

Morning session 8.45am – 12.30pm (Under 8, 10, 12 and 13)

Afternoon session 1.30pm – 6.00pm (Under 7, 9 and 11)

Under 7s and Under 8s will be non-competitive with each player receiving a participation award. Under 9s to Under 13s will play competitive matches with plate competitions to supplement the cups. Trophies will be awarded to winners and runners up in both the plate and cup competitions thereby enabling us to maximise the opportunity for players to take home a trophy.

All matches in Under 7 to Under 10 will be played in a 7-a-side format (max 10 per squad), with matches being 6-a-side for Under 11 to Under 13 age groups (max 9 per squad).

There will be a BBQ, tea tent and a number of sideshows to keep both participants and spectators occupied and happy. Car parking will be £4 per car, to include a programme.

Cost of entry per squad is £35.

The planned closing date for entries is 14 April at which time the Tournament Committee will allocate places based on a number of factors to include date of receipt of entry, past support by that team or club of the tournament and a desire to enable new teams to participate. EACH YEAR WE ARE OVER-SUBSCRIBED SO PLEASE ENTER AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. Confirmation of successful applicants will be sent out shortly after this, at which point cheques will then be paid into the bank. Multiple entries for individual clubs are welcome and every effort will be made to accommodate them, space permitting.

It is our intention that all entrants will be informed of their place within 1 week of the closing date.
