Minutes from previous meeting and financials were reviewed and approved by consensus.
Old Business:
· Loren Franzen completed the work in the front entry for $1,050.00. This was within the estimate and he ended up completing more work than was expected. The entry floor is also complete as well as the bathrooms. The council is still awaiting the bill from Diversity Coatings for the project.
· Steve contacted Kohlmeyer/Pat Costigan regarding the gutter repair. Steve is waiting to hear back from him.
· Krause Konstruction met with some of the council members. It is estimated to take 4-5 days with most of the work to be completed on the east wall. The council agreed to go ahead with tuckpointing.
· There was a window that was filled in with blocks and now the wall is now tipping forward. The west entry also needs to be re-shingled. Loren Franzen will be contacted to get a quote for the repairs.
· Steve took care of most of the insurance issue from last summer, such as the furnace release value, grinding down side walk and getting rid of the wood step ladder. Ken will look into replacing the wood ladder with a fiber glass one. Steve will also take care of this year’s insurance form for the Archdiocese.
· Janet said the new light bulb for the pulpit is still not enough light. She purchased a stronger light that can be set on the podium. The council agreed to try it out.
· Janet will follow up with Justin so the rectory can get listed for sale online.
New Business:
· The issue of bugs in the church was brought up. Terra will look into the spraying that’s done by Presto-X to see if something more needs to be done.
· For the 2017/2018 term the officers will be Ken Hemesath-Chair, Amy Hanson-Vice Chair.
· The council was informed that Ralph Adams is currently having Danielle Wenthold cut the church lawn due to health issues.
· The council has agreed to look into switching the lights over to LED bulbs and will check into the cost by the next meeting.
· The light post in the front yard needs to be repainted. Janet will see if it needs to be sandblasted before the painting is done.
· Fr. gave approval to move the copy machine from the rectory into the church basement.
· A piece of the original white altar is in the rectory. Fr. Kyle and the council members agreed it would be nice to move it back into the church and a statue to be placed on it.
· Steve spoke with Wally Wenthold about expanding the parking lot. Wally said he will donate labor and will do it for the cost of the rock. About 200 tons of rock would be needed.
