-Present in introduction, echoed in body, summarized in conclusion
_____(1) Real life examples provided as support for thesis
-Provided in body paragraphs, a minimum of 2 examples that support your main idea required
_____(1) Essay format is followed from instructions sheet
-Essay is typed, minimum of 250 words which translates to 3 ½ to 5 min. speech, title clear
_____(1) Essay is structurally sound, clearly-written, proofread and thus lacks errors
-Essay represents students’ best effort entered into contest
NOTE: As a free-response essay, student has the freedom to take the theme in any direction they so choose. But they must maintain the above expectations to earn a full 5 extra credit points.
