Terry Scallan / Terry Scallan
Terry has been in the security environment for over 25 years. He took early retirement from the South African National Defence Force in 1997 after completing the SA Air Force Command and Staff Course. Terry has been a security consultant, the general manager of a guarding company and a security training consultant. He is presently the Managing Director of BTC Training, Johannesburg and a member of Power Corporate Consultants and Associates.
Terry was a member of the Institute since 2000, when he started as a Junior Graduate. In 2005, he was appointed to the Board of Governors and was very active in membership recruitment, security education, training and development. He was also the convenor of the verification committee and was instrumental in establishing relaitons with the UK Security Institute.
Terry was an appointed member of the Private Security Chamber at SASSETA where his influence and industry knowledge came to the fore. Terry assisted SASSETA as an industry expert spokesperson on security industry matters on a national basis. His dedication to the industry and his support (and critique) of SASSETA will be remembered.
- The funeral service will be held at the St Pius X Catholic Church, 660 Pienaar Street, Waterkloof, Pretoria on Tuesday 6 November 2012 at 13:00
- The family have requested that flowers be delivered as follows: Wreaths directly to the church, other flowers to 63 The Gables, Radcliffe Street, Monument Park.
