Hansgrohe’s hand shower for children celebrates its twentieth birthday

Twenty Years of Water Fun with Joco

Singapore, September 2015.It’s Joco’s birthday! For twenty years, Hansgrohe’s colourful hand shower has been making sure children enjoy taking a bath. The mixer and shower specialists developed Joco in 1995 together with their longstanding partner Phoenix Design. “The product is especially designed for children. It has an animal-like appearance with a crest on its head that’s fun to play with and fascinating googly eyes that make the hand shower lively and funny. “Kids still love it today,” says Tom Schönherr, Managing Partner at Phoenix Design.

Bright colours and a soft spray

World champion javelin thrower Christina Obergföll has been enjoying using Joco every day with her son Marlon. Her one-year-old is already showering like a grown-up with his brightly coloured playmate in the bathtub and in his paddling pool outdoors. “Marlon is a real water baby. He loves the hand shower’s bright hues and really has fun using it in the bathtub and shower,” confides Christina Obergföll. “During the summer we use Joco in our garden so Marlon can jump around and have fun playing with water.”

A versatile hand shower

The multi-coloured hand shower for children features two spray modes: a stronger normal spray and a soft spray that lets water flow gently over a toddler’s head. And there’s an easy remedy for lime scale build-up: a slight twist of the showerhead gives Joco a beard. This green stubble removes lime scale in a flash. The fun hand shower for children comes in a colour combination of red, yellow, blue and green. “We intentionally chose primary colours when we developed Joco. These colours are particularly easy for babies to see,” explains Tom Schönherr.
