MCCTE (Master) Portfolio Checklist
The specific information on this check list must be assembled and submitted in exact order to be scored.
a) ___ HIGHER EDUCATION: Copy of Master’s degree transcript [must be from a regionally-accredited body (
b) ___ PEDAGOGY: Copy of permanent or lifetime State Teacher’s License or National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certificate or Praxis II certificate;
c) ___ OCCUPATIONAL TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION: Copy of industry-recognized credential [i.e., US-DOL journey-worker certificate, RN license, etc. or AAS transcript in a technical field (i.e., Automotive Technology, Construction Management, etc.) plus a copy of WorkKeys State or National Gold Career Readiness Certificate)];
d) ___ OCCUPATIONAL TRAINING QUALIFICATION: Copy of current train-the-trainer certificate (i.e., OSHA 500, OSHA 501, AWS Certified Welding Inspector/Certified Welding Educator, etc.);
e) ___ CAREER COMMITMENT: Letter from the applicant’s chief academic officer (i.e., principal, director ,etc.), on current school’s stationery, verifying a minimum of 8 years teaching experience in a secondary and/or post-secondary CTE program that includes structured practical and applied theoretical instruction;
f) ___ COMMUNITY OF PROFESSIONALS: Copy of current membership card from related professional organization dedicated to improving the quality of teaching and learning effectiveness (i.e., ACTE, ASTS, SkillsUSA, etc.);
g) ______CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Complete the Continuing Professional Development Plan/record;signed byyour supervisor, director, principal or superintendent*
h) ___ Include contact Information for two local Media outlets i.e. newspaper, television station, radio station for announcement; Also include a recent photo for media
i) ___ Include a copy of your resume; with current email address
j) ___ Completed application; Have your completed application notarized by a current Notary Public
k) ___ Check or money order for $200 (Payable to Eastern Illinois University).
l) ___ Make a copy of your complete portfolio package to keep for your records.
MCCTE (Master) Renewal
The specific information on this check list must be assembled and submitted in exact order to be scored.
a. ___ CURRENT PROOF: Copy of unexpired CCTE certification level;
b. ______CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Complete the Continuing Professional Development Plan/record; signed byyour supervisor, director, principal or superintendent*
c. ___ Include a copy of your current resume; with current email address
d. ___ Completed application; Have your completed application notarized by a current Notary Public
e. ___ Check or moneyorder for $100 (Payable to Eastern Illinois University).
f. ___ Make a copy of your complete portfolio package to keep for your records.
*Includes HQTC item (i.e., proof of journal article, conference presentation, mentoring relationship, etc.)
