“It’s All Change at the Doctors”

We are delighted to announce that Dr Lesley Jeffers joined the surgery to work part time two days a week in March. She specialises in ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat) Dr Jeffers has been a GP for many years and we welcome her to the practice.

Dr Bolland is leaving the practice in August for pastures new. He decided that teaching students and working less hours was the way forward for him. We wish him every success for the future.

Dr Menon will be joining us on 4th September as a permanent replacement. He has been a GP in this area for 17 years and specialises in Cardiology. We are very pleased to welcome him on board. In the meantime he is filling in for us during August over the holiday period.

NHS Health Checks

We offer a Health Check to patients between 40 – 74 to check blood pressure, raised cholesterol and any signs of early diabetes along with lifestyle advice. This health check is offered every 5 years to those patients who do not already have heart problems, diabetes or monitoring for raised blood pressure.
Please phone the surgery to see if you are eligible and to make an appointment.

Text Message Appointment confirmations and reminders

Having set up a text messaging service about eighteen months ago to send reminders for appointments and other healthcare alerts in due course, any patient that is not already included in this service should contact the receptionist team who will add the appropriate consent to your medical records. In order for this to work for you, you need to ensure we have an up to date mobile telephone number on your records and also be aware that it is your responsibility to advise us should you change your mobile number.

DON'T FORGET - YOU CAN QUICKLY CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT BY CALLING

01788 822203

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CALLS TO AND FROM THE PRACTICE ARE RECORDED FOR MONITORING PURPOSES

crickmedicalpractice.co.uk

Please check out our website, address as above. Our patients have access to their repeat prescription requests, booking appointments and viewing their medical record.

If you would like to register for this facility please register in person next time you are at the practice and bring with you some identification e.g. Passport, Driving Licence. We will give you a letter giving you your ID and password to register on line and access to the new options available.

Although this mechanism seems a little laborious, we need to be very careful that we are registering the correct patient request. Each individual will have access to their medical record; therefore we need to protect you from identity fraud.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further information or advice.

Training Time for Doctors and Staff

Please be aware that the surgery will be closing on one Wednesday afternoon of each month for Staff Training. Times: 1 pm – 6:30 pm.

During this time if you need to see a doctor urgently, you can call 111.

This opportunity will enable us to keep up to date with mandatory training and enhance staff knowledge. The dates for the rest of this year are as follows: No training in August,

13th September, 11th October, 8th November and 6th December 2017.
