Expressions of interest

Members are invited to submit expressions of interest for appointment to Queensland Law Society policy committees.

Functions of policy committees

The policy committees carry out a wide range of functions including:

·  policy recommendations and implementation

·  providing expert advice to Queensland Law Society’s Council

·  commenting on policy/legislative initiatives and reports by Government and relevant authorities

·  bringing attention to problems with the law and seeking appropriate amendments.

The policy committees also provide a forum for considering practical problems experienced by members and bring a wide range of issues to their attention.

The Council considers the committee system vital to the operation of QLS and vital to the strength of the legal profession in Queensland.

The functioning and membership of the Policy Committees is governed by the QLS Committee Charter 2010 available from qls.com.au.
