“Moon Over the Monument Welcome Event”
(GERING, NE) The Moon Over the Monument Eclipse Planning announces call for Food Vendors and Community-Business booths for the official welcome event for Eclipse visitors and residents on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Five Rocks Amphitheater.
The Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017 is bringing thousands of new visitors to Gering and Scotts Bluff County. In keeping with the goals for Eclipse visitors to have once-in-a-lifetime experiences while viewing in our communities, the committee has planned an afternoon Welcome Event on Sunday, August 20th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. at Five Rocks Amphitheater. The event will feature a culinary journey of our area with foods and ethnic cuisines offered for sale by local/regional food vendors and food trucks.
“Food vendors in our area are always popular at local events offering choices to please every palate, according to Brenda Leisy, Director of the Scotts Bluff Area Visitors Bureau. “The welcome event is expected to attract a large contingent of Eclipse visitors here for Eclipse weekend and residents looking to enjoy the heritage of our area through our foods, arts and culture”, stated Leisy.
“The Moon Over the Monument Welcome Event is also the perfect opportunity for our community organizations and businesses to showcase their products and services to new world audiences the day before the Solar Eclipse”, said Karla Niedan-Streeks, Director of the Gering Visitors Bureau.
