Chocksett’s Student Council is a very active council, and this year we hope to expand involvement in our school and within the district. In addition to organizing many school activities, “STUCO” will also give students an opportunity to work as a team and develop strong leadership qualities.
If you are interested….All students in Grades 5-8 can run for “STUCO” Homeroom Representative. Based upon number of candidates, the Advisors may choose to appoint additional grade level representatives to provide bonus support to the council.

Thank you for your interest in running for Student Council Homeroom Representative. Student Council members represent the student body of Chocksett Middle School and must be responsible, hard-working, and be of good character. One representative will be selected from each homeroom.. Based upon number of candidates, the Advisors may choose to appoint additional grade level representatives to provide bonus support to the council.
Student Council Information:
Members are required to attend ALL Student Council meetings. Meeting dates are listed on the following permission slip. Three unexcused absences from meetings, poor academic standing, and/or behavior problems will result in dismissal from the council.
Students must pass all subjects as reported on the most recent formal communication with parents, Students may be dismissed from the council at end-of-quarter report card times if averages indicate an average below 65.
Election Information:
To be considered a candidate, you must turn in an application form and give a campaign speech to your homeroom. You must turn in your signed application form byTuesday, September 26th(no exceptions). You will campaign for Student Council by preparing a speech, which you will deliver to your homeroom classmates. Speeches should be no longer than 2 minutes in length, and should include your name and why you think you should be elected.
We ask that no special treats or campaign favors are to be passed out during the campaign. A candidate will be disqualified if this is taking place.
Elections will take place on Friday, September 29th, immediately following speeches at an extended homeroom period. New members will be announced the same day.
