Personal Profile:

I am currently attending Hull Trinity House Academy and I study a variety of subjects; English Literature and Language, Mathematics, Combined Science, History, Business Studies and Maritime Studies. I have just begun a Level 2 BTEC Sport to help me become a more rounded person so I have an understanding of all of the different subjects I may come across in my future years. I currently attend multiple revision sessions in order to extend my knowledge to help me exceed my target grades. Although this can be hard work, I believe this will pay off to help me in the future to get on to courses I want to do

Maritime Studies has allowed me to foreshadow my future aspirations to go on from college to study at a nautical college in order to achieve my goals for job satisfaction. Maritime Studies has also helped me achieve three qualifications validated by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). I am also working towards another 2 qualifications in order to help my claim to study at a nautical college. I have also had the opportunity to attend Welton Waters twice a year (KS3) and Hornsea Mere every week (KS4), in to gain a better understanding of the wind and its effects on a vessel. I have been able to secure a dinghy sailing qualification. This has helped my team work skills as the Maritime group had to rig and derig the boats and help others out in the water if someone or you have capsized.

In my own time, I have had the opportunity to have taken up previous employment at my local Today's Local store. I have taken up two jobs at the store, a paper-round and a shelf-stacking role. These roles have helped me to learn time-management skills as I have to wake up at 6 o' clock. This has helped me achieve what the day of work includes. I have also played tennis for my local tennis club which helped me build up my confidence. This has helped me to have a better inner-core strength, which helped out whilst sailing and working at the store.
