3 Jan 17, 1740 hours. Unlawful use of a credit card. 6500 W Gunnison. Victim stated that unk off(s) had used his Visa Debit card online and made an unauthorized purchase for $503.00. Victim then canceled the card with First Financial credit union. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

5 Jan 17, 1636 hours. Fraud. 4343 N Sayre Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had used his personal information and applied for four credit cards in his name. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

14 Jan 17, 1914 hours. 4572 N Narragansett Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had used her Byline bank credit card at a Target in Waukegan charging $872.54 worth of merchandise. Victim was advised to cancel card and contact the Waukegan Police Department.

15 Jan 17, 1928 hours. Fraud. 4701 N Oketo Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had used a Carson Pirie Scott credit card in his name making numerous purchases totaling $968.07 from 16 Dec 16 until 30 Dec 16. Card was then cancelled. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

31 Dec 16 – 2 Jan 17, 1600-1811 hours. Criminal Damage to Property. 4310 N Newcastle Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had broken his front passenger side window on his parked 2001 silver Toyota Corolla.

8 Jan 17, 1530 hours. Retail Theft. 4713 N Harlem Ave. (Cricket). Store Clerk stated that a M/H or a M/B subject, 6’0” tall, 250 LBS, wearing a dark leather jacket, sunglasses, Detroit Lions cap, washed blue jeans and white gym shoes removed two demo Apple I Phones from a display and left the store without paying for them. Incident was captured on CCTV. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

10 Jan 17, 1933 hours. Criminal Damage to Property. 4701 N Harlem. (Burlington Parking lot). Victim stated that unk off(s) had keyed the front and rear driver’s side of her parked red 2016 Nissan Altima. CCTV showed a subject with a dark SUV parked near the victim’s vehicle and that he was looking at the driver’s side of the vehicle with a flashlight then drove away. CCTV could not make out a plate number on the SUV. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

13 Jan 17, 1723 hours. Retail Theft. 4761 N Nagle Ave. (Buteras). Loss Prevention agent stated that he observed a M’W subject take $7.55 worth of sandwiches then left the store without paying. Subject was stopped by agent. A Milewski, Michal M/W 23 YOA was charged with Misdemeanor Retail Theft on a signed complaint.

13-14 Jan 17, 1830-1800 hours. Criminal Damage to Property. 7500 block Winnemac Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had shattered the windshield of his parked 1990, white olds cutlass using a large cinder block. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

15-16 Jan 17, 1500-0545 hours. Theft from Motor Vehicle. 7536 W Winona St. Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken his catalytic converter from his parked blue 2005 GMC Safari truck. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

14 Jan 17, 1235-1352 hours. Burglary/ No force. 4311 N Newcastle Ave. Victim stated that he was approached in his yard by a M/W subject asking if he could speak to him about fixing the chimney. Subject followed the victim inside of his residence stating his partner was on the roof checking the chimney. Subject was told by the victim’s wife to get out of the residence and that she was calling the police. Subject left N/B in a silver truck. Subject was described as a M/W, 40-45 YOA, 6’0” tall, 150 LBS, olive complexion wearing a grey work shirt and jacket. Victim then observed that his wedding rings, watch, collectable coins and necklace was missing. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

16 Jan 17, 0510-1145 hours. Criminal Damage to Property. 4747 N Harlem Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had broken out her front passenger window of her parked dark green 2002 Chrysler 300.

15 Jan 17, 1210 hours. Retail Theft. 7401 W Lawrence Ave. (Mariano’s). Loss Prevention agent stated that he observed two F/W subjects that were working as a team place three bottles of liquor and a package of razor blades inside of a black purse then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Both subjects were stopped and detained by loss prevention. A Paredes, Denise L F/W 49 YOA and a Zurek, Kimberly M F/W 53 YOA both residing at 4602 N River Road, Schiller Park were charged with Misdemeanor Retail Theft on signed complaints. Incident was captured on CCTV.

15-16 Jan 17, 1100-2200 hours. Theft from Motor Vehicle. Oketo and Carmen Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken his catalytic converter from his parked 2002 black Toyota Sequoia. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

16-17 Jan 17, 1600-0656 hours. Theft from Motor Vehicle. 4900 N Harlem Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken his catalytic converter from his parked blue 2000 Ford Econoline van. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

16-17 Jan 17, 2300-2245 hours. Theft from Motor Vehicle. 7171 W Gunnison St. Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken his catalytic converter from his parked 2004 white Toyota Sequoia. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

17 Jan 17, 0636 hours. Criminal Damage to Property. 4850 N Harlem Ave. (Subway). Store manager stated that unk off(s) had shattered the glass door and adjacent plate glass window of the store. No entry was made. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

18 Jan 17, 1314 hours. Retail Theft. 4761 N Nagle Ave. (Buteras). Store manager stated that he observed a M/W subject placing three bags of coffee inside of his jacket. Subject then walked past the registers never attempting to pay for the merchandise then towards the exit doors. Subject was then held for police. A Seibert, David M M/W 36 YOA, 42749 Washington Ave, Winthrop Harbor was charged with Misdemeanor Retail Theft on a signed complaint.

21 Jan 17, 1545 hours. Burglary/ No Force. 4733 N New England Ave. Victim stated a M/W subject was in his backyard ringing his doorbell and he described him as being a heavy build, unshaven stubble, dark gloves and clothing, baseball cap who stated that he worked for the water company and needed to come in and check his meter. Victim then let him inside of the basement and was asked to stay downstairs as the victim went upstairs to check the water. The victim then realized that the subject had left and that he observed his wife’s jewelry boxes were now empty. HHPD E.T was called and Detective Division investigating.

Crimes against Persons

1 Jan 17, 0001 hours. Aggravated Assault/ Unlawful use of Weapon. 4247 N Newcastle Ave. Victim stated that her intoxicated husband was arguing with her and was swinging a knife at her threatening to kill her. Subjects were separated by her children. Victim then went to the bedroom and barricaded the door with a chair and shelf. The husband then pushed the door open and was swinging the knife towards her stating he was going to kill her and himself when the victim told him she was calling the police. Subject then left the residence. A Mozdzierz, Marek M/W 55 YOA, 4247 N Newcastle Ave, HH turned himself in to the HHPD Detectives and was charged with Misdemeanor Aggravated Assault and Unlawful use of Weapon on signed complaints and was held in lieu of a bond hearing.

12 Jan 17, 2059 hours. Armed Robbery. 4715 N Harlem Ave. (Game Stop). Clerk stated that a M/B subject wearing a gray jacket, brown boots, black worn ski mask pointed a black semi-automatic handgun with scratches on it at the store clerk ordering him to turn over money from the cash register. The offender takes $680.00 in U.S.C. orders both clerk and a M/W customer to lay on the floor then exits the store, unk direction or vehicle used. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

20 Jan 17, 2220 hours. Assault. 6400 W Montrose Ave. (McDonald’s). Complainant stated while working the register a M/W subject, late 20’s – early 30’s, blond hair in a ponytail, blue jeans and a blue jacket began arguing with the complainant about not receiving any free food for his birthday. Subject then swung twice at the victim’s head but missed. Subject then left the store after being told the police were being called. HHPD Detective Division investigating.

26 Jan 17, 1906 hours. Battery. 4725 N Harlem Ave. (Marshall’s parking lot). Victim stated that she was involved in a verbal altercation with a female subject after she came close to being struck by the subject’s vehicle while walking through the parking lot. Victim was later approached by the subject who then struck her on the left side of her face with a closed right fist. A Nunez, Susana M F/H 22 YOA, 2616 N Meade Ave, Chicago was charged with Misdemeanor Battery on a signed complaint.

Scam artists knock on your door offering to repair something in or around your home for a very low price. They ask you to pay upfront and you will never see them again or if you allow them inside your residence, they will distract you and steal your valuables.
All Village Employees/PublicWorks have IDs on them at all times. Ask for ID and call 911 for verification.

HARLEM AND FOSTER IS A NO TURN ON RED WHEN PEDESTRIANS ARE PRESENT, THIS MEANS YOU CAN TURN BUT YOU MUST STILL COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FIRST BEFORE YOU NAVAGATE YOUR TURN AND THAT NO PEDESTRIANS ARE PRESENT.
