Lynn Jensen Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility:High School Seniors

Criteria:Student will need to have two letters of recommendation, a completed student achievement section and written essay about a school counselor who has had a positive effect/influence on you and your school success. Young Entrepreneur Foundation

Eligibility: High School Seniors who are entering freshman year at an accredited two or four year institution. Many applicants are from FBLA, FFA, DECA, and/or National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship.

Foundation for Individual Rights in Education: Freedom in Academia

Eligibility:High school seniors

American Civil Liberties Union of Utah (ACLU) Scholarship

Eligibility:High school seniors

Criteria:Demonstrates a strong commitment to civil liberties through some form of activism. Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Must submit a 1000 word essay detailing a commitment to civil liberties, equality, racial justice, free speech, religious freedom, and/or tolerance. Gates Millennium Scholars Program

Eligibility:High school seniors; are of African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American; are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S.; have a GPA of 3.3; leadership abilities; meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.

Criteria:The Gates Millennium Scholarship Program will select the next cohort of 1,000 students in the 2011-2012 academic year. This renewable, need-based scholarship provides financial support. Please visit to apply.

Eligibility:A 2015 Graduate of Italian ancestry

Criteria:Award is based on ACT score, exceptional high school ability, and extracurricular activities. Applicant must also be enrolled in an institution of higher education. A summary of educational goals and an essay must be submitted with a paper application. The essay must state your Italian heritage and how it has impacted your life. BYU Geological Sciences, George Hansen Fellowship Scholarship

Eligibility:High School Senior planning on attending BYU

Criteria:Must enroll as a Geology or Earth and Space Education Major. Must be able to maintain a 3.3 or higher at BYU and abide the universities honor code. Must complete an online applicationat Must also submit high school transcript and 2 letters of recommendations.

The Utah Association of Independent Insurance Agents (UAIIA)

Eligibility:Utah high school seniors

Criteria:Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and are active in extra-curricular activities through your school, church, community or work. One scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing an insurance career, the others to students pursuing insurance or business degrees. Financial need by applicants may also be considered. Governor’s Honors Academy (JUNIORS)

The Academy is organized to provide Utah high school students with an opportunity to learn, lead and interact with some of the foremost leaders in business, technology, humanities, science, education, communication and social science. The Academy is held at Southern Utah University for 10 days in the summer. Students must have a 3.75 GPA or higher. The cost of the Academy is $1000 for all expenses. Those participants who attend the entire Academy will receive 6 college credits and a 4-year scholarship to Southern Utah University. For additional information, please visit or call (435) 865-8219. Symantec Software Scholarship

This program is intended to encourage high school students to pursue education in math and science. Harvard University Tuition Opportunity

Harvard University announced that from now on undergraduate students from low-income families will pay no tuition. Harvard University will pay thetuition of a high school honor student from a family earning less than $60,000 a year. The prestigious university recently announced that from now onundergraduate students from low-income families can go to Harvard for free…no tuition and no student loans.
