EVERY 5 MINUTES someone is diagnosed with Leukemia or Lymphoma. Donations $$ will be collected in your 6th period class next week to raise money for research and treatment.

BOOK CLUB – The book to read for March is ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ The Club will meet March 16.

AP EUROPEAN HISTORY, AP US HISTORY & AP GOVERNMENT/HONORS ECONOMICS applications are available Now from the Social Studies teachers. All completed applications must be turned in by Friday, March 10. Entrance tests for qualified applicants will be given on Thursday, March 16, after school.

ATTENTION ARTISTS! Time is running out to submit your artwork for the cover of ‘Voices Around the World’. Please tuun in all submissions to room 250 by Monday, March 13. All submissions must be rendered in black and white on an 8 ½ x11 Sheet of paper and ID# on the back.

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT FINISHED YET? Come to a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, March 14 at lunch in room 410. If you do not attend the meeting, you will not be able to enter your project!!

THE NAACP is seeking high school students (grades 9-12) of African American descent for the ‘Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics’ . This is a great opportunity! Please see Ms. Hale in House C if you are interested.

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS PROGRAM –For the next 3 weeks, Beverly HillsHigh School will join 16,000 other schools to help people who suffer with blood cancers. All you have to do is collect donations and place them in your classroom’s collection box. Every cent counts!

WANT A FREE 30 DAY PASS TO 24 HOUR FITNESS? The California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports along with 24 Hour Fitness are providing CaliforniaHigh School students with nearly a semester of FREE access to 24 Hour Fitness facilities. Students can log on to and follow the directions.

CELEBREMOS AUDITIONS will be held on Friday, March 24th immediately after Period 7! Please go to room 388, right above the main stairwell to pay your music, sing, act, recite, and WOW the judges with your talent! See you there!

CAREER DAY 2006 IS COMING! This year’s Career Day will be held on Tuesday, May 16th. We have revised the Career Selection Survey with a number of very interesting professions. The survey now totals 87 different careers to select from, of which each student may choose three and one alternate choice. The survey will be posted around the campus starting Thursday, March 9 for students to review and begin thinking about their selections. The actual date for the sign up will be provided in the near future.
