Course Overview: The purpose of World History is to give the student an understanding of the changing world in which they live in through an examination of world cultures and their problems and achievements from earliest times. Major concentration is on those movements, events, and forces which have shaped the modern world.
Expectations:Respectful….….Responsible….The Golden Rule

-Always have supplies
-LISTEN when others are speaking
Grading:
●Franklin High School grading scale will apply
Daily Grades 40% (Class assignments, quizzes, daily work, warm ups, etc.)
Tests/Projects 60%
Homework & Late Work:
Homework will be assigned on an as needed basis. It may be an assignment that you have not finished in class or an assignment that reinforces a topic learned or will be learned in class.
Make-up work:The criteria will be present in the Student Handbook and will be enforced.
●Work assigned prior to student’s absence will be due when the student returns
●Work assigned during a student’s absence will be due as follows:
o1 day out: 1 day to turn in
o2 days out: 2 days to turn in
Late work:The grade on work that is not completed by the due date will lose 10 points a day until it is turned in. Assignments not turned in after 3 days won’t be accepted.
Retest Policy:Students may take a retest for any failing test grade. The highest grade that can be earned on a retest is 70. Retests will be given in the morning from 7:15-7:50 or after school. Any student wanting to retest must meet with me to get the retest process started. Student WILL have 1 WEEK to complete the retest process.
Tutorials:Any student needing extra help may come to tutorials in the morning or afternoon. Please speak with me in class to communicate that you will be coming.
Extra Credit:I will provide ample opportunities for extra credit---TAKE ADVANTAGE! I will post on the website/and or make an announcement in class.
Technology: Everyone must abide by technology policies set forth by FHS. Cell phones will be placed in a box at the front of the room. When the bell rings, students may get their phone and go to their next class.

●2 inch binder1st period- map pencils
●writing utensils (pencil or pen)3rd period- scissors
●notebook paper4th period- map pencils
5th period-scissors
6th period- kleenex
7th period- Kleenex
8th period-glue
