Descriptive Location: Laundromat is now shut down. It is southwest of Nelson Island School (NIS).
General site description, with brief history of use: Laundromat is now shut down, owned by Nunakauyak Traditional Council (NTC). It was used by locals for washing, drying clothes, and showering. It is now used as a storage area for NTC
Buildings on site: Yes, 215’ NW is the NIS, 55’ W is old clinic, 36’ N is the teacher housing, 110’ SW is F. Pitka’s home, 100’ NE is teacher housing, 90’ E is J. Henry’s home.
Approximate site size: acres OR 40feet wide by 44 feet long
Potential or suspected contaminants (or wastes containing contaminants):
Inside the building – stove oil and fluorescent light bulbs (which were boxed and ready to be shipped, oil in open lid containers, and possible glycol
Under the building – Floor Sealer, Joint Compound, Vinyl Wallcovering Adhesive, Paints 100% Acrylic Polymer Floor Finish (all of which were in 5-gal buckets), and Styrofoam’s
Outside the building were old 55-gal drums and containers.

Could smell the stove oil from inside the building
