School Needs Assessment
Data was collected through a variety of sources including discipline data, student achievement data, faculty, parent, and student surveys, and intervention success rate data. This information showed need in the areas of classroom disruption, insubordination, and disrespect and achievement on the PARCC Math & ELA assessments.
School Improvement Goals to Target Areas from Needs Assessment
- Improve the culture of West Middle to address concerns of classroom disruption, insubordination, and disrespect by reducing the number of occurrences by 10% (204 in 2015 – 16).
- By 2018, improve student achievement on the ELA PARCC assessment by increasing the percentage of students earning a 4 or 5 to 75% (47.9% in 2015).
- By 2018, improve student achievement on the Math PARCC assessment by increasing the percentage of students earning a 4 or 5 to 75% (44.1% in 2015).

- Improve the culture of West Middle to address concerns of classroom disruption, insubordination, and disrespect by reducing the number of occurrences by 10%.
