ORDER:
The Collector of Kanniyakumari District in his letter first read above has stated that in Kanniyakumari District 33 Coastal Villages have been destroyed due to the impact of Tsunami and that many persons have lost theirbelongings including all registered instruments registered in different Registrars’ Offices and that the Tsunami affected families who have lost their original registered documents may approach the Registration Department for issue of copy of the documents. He has therefore requested that the above copies of documents may be arranged to be supplied to the Tsunami affected persons on free of cost on the basis of necessary certificate obtained from the Village Administrative Officers concerned.

- The Government have examined the matter carefully
and decided to accept the request of the Collector of Kanniyakumari. Accordingly the Government direct that copies of registered documents shall be issued to the Tsunami affected persons in Tamil Nadu on free of cast. The Notification appended to the G.O. Will be published in the next issue of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette. The Works Manager, Government Central Press is requested to sent 25 copies of the Gazette in which the notification is published.
3. This order issue with the concurrence of Finance Vide its U.O.No.20547/Fin(Rev.)05-1, dated 31.3.2005.

APPENDIX
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 78-A of the Registration Act, 1908(Central Act VI of 1908) as the Governor of Tamil Nadu is of the opinion that it is necessary so to do in the public interest hereby remits fees payable in respect of matters enumerated in Articles 13 and 14 of the Table of Fees prepared under section 78 of the said Act, by the persons affected by the Tsunami which struck Tamil Nadu on the 26th December 2004, on production of a certificate issued by the Village Administrative Officer concerned to the effect that the applicant was actually affect by the Tsunami.
