1. Kristian Sharpe Hoffman Memorial Scholarship

-created in memory of Kristian Sharpe Hoffman by her parents with the purpose of assisting a young person’s post-secondary plans

-available to seniors who are planning a degree in *ministry or mission work, or work related to Autism

(*consideration will be given to additional college majors if no one expresses an interest in ministry or work related to Autism

-applicant must be a resident of or a descendant of a resident of the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church community

Amount: $2,000

Application must be submitted by April 15, 2013

2. Alamance County Human Relations Council

-providing a scholarship to local high school seniors with the purpose of recognizing students who have promoted better

understanding among people and who have demonstrated leadership in strengthening human relations

-interested students will submit an essay and two recommendation letters

Amount: ranges from $250 to $1,200

Application must be submitted by April 22, 2013

3. DEKA-T Scholarship

-available to a deserving African-American student planning to attend a two or four year college program

-application addresses academic background, church membership and involvement, letters of reference, an essay, and financial need

Amount: varies

Application must be submitted by April 26, 2013

4. Alpha Delta Kappa, Eta Chapter

-an International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators will provide a scholarship to a deserving student who plans to enroll in

a four year college/university in the fall

-selection criteria: character, extracurricular, good academic status, deserving and in need of financial assistance

Amount: $500 per year for four years

Application is due to Mrs. Payne by April 30, 2013
