MAP Pricing Policy – Updated March 26, 2013
The RoomMates Internet MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policy has been established in order to create a level playing field for all RoomMates resellers, as well as to protect the integrity of the RoomMates brand. RoomMates allows and encourages retailers to resell its products over the internet as long as the retailer respects the MAP policy.
RoomMates requires that retailers advertise its products online at or above the published MAP for each item. The current MAP can be found on our MAP list or UPC listing. Please note that MAP applies only to the advertised price – not the selling price.
Promotional coupon codes, free or reduced shipping rates, or BOGO (“buy one get one free”) deals are not impacted by the MAP policy and may be offered to customers at your discretion. Special offers are permitted provided that the MAP remains intact on each product page.
Failure to comply with the RoomMates MAP policy will result in the following actions:
· First violation: A warning is issued. Five (5) business days will be given to bring all internet pricing back to MAP. No orders will be shipped until pricing has been corrected.
· Second violation: A warning is issued. Three (3) business days will be given to bring all internet pricing back to MAP. No orders will be shipped until pricing has been corrected.
· Third violation: Upon the third violation of the policy, my account will be suspended. Orders will not be accepted nor shipped.
· Probationary re-instatement: Suspended accounts may be re-instated at the discretion of RoomMates. Accounts on “MAP probation” may only place drop-ship orders for a period of sixty (60) days. After completion of the probationary period without a violation, accounts may be fully re-instated. Any violations located during the probationary period will result in immediate and permanent suspension.
Accounts selling online will be asked to provide the name and address(es) of any storefronts on which they plan to sell RoomMates. Failure to provide this information will result in your account setup being delayed.
If you are buying RoomMates with the intent to act as a distributor, please be aware that MAP is extended to these accounts as well. YOU are responsible for enforcing MAP on these accounts. In the event that one of your customers is found to be violating MAP, you will be notified; if they do not comply, your account will be considered for suspension.
