ACCME (American Council for Continuing Medical Education) the accrediting organization for all continuing education programs is requiring stricter guidelines for participant attendance at continuing education seminars. The Pacific Southwest Technologist Chapter (PSWTC) has been closely monitoring attendance at all educational programs for the past several years so our verification of attendance will not require any alterations. As always, we will be stamping at the end of each lecture and/or session.

Criteria for awarding VOICE credit has been clarified by the SNM as follows:

  • 30 min = 0.5 CEH
  • 45-50 min = 0.75 CEH
  • 55-65 min = 1.0 CEH
  • 10-15 min lectures – grouped to total a min of 30 min
  • Labs – with lectures (60 min): ½ credit = 0.5 CEH
  • Labs – no lectures (minimum 120 min required) = ½ credit = 1.0 CEH
  • Lectures “45 min with 15 min Q/A” = 0.75 CEH
  • Lectures “45 min with 15 min Panel Discussion” = 1.0 CEH
  • Lectures during meal functions where food continues to be served during the lecture will be awarded at ½ time: 60 min = 0.5 CEH. Note: Box lunches or meals that are not interrupted during the lecture are excluded from the ½ credit criteria.).

To receive credit for each lecture/session:

  • You must be in your seat at the time of stamping. –no exceptions.
  • If you are not in your seat at the time of stamping please don't ask for a stamp because you needed a bathroom break or a cup ofcoffee, or you really needed to talk to someone across the room etc.
  • You must be present for 80% of lecture/session (i.e. 50 minutes of a 60minute lecture) With the exception of a quick bathroom break, if you leave beforethe end of the lecture you will not receive credit for that lecture.

Certificates are handed out at the end of each day:

  • If you do not pick up yourcertificate at the end of the day you will not receive credit for the last lecture/session. We do not stamp the last lecture/session, as taking your certificate is proof that you attendedthat lecture/session.
  • If you need to leave before the end of thelast lecture/session of the dayyou will receive credit only for the lectures you have attended.

Thank you for helping us to maintain a credible reputation forawarding educational credit only to those individuals that meet the ACCME guidelines.
