4TH SIX WEEKS TEXAS HISTORY

TECHNOLOGY PROJECT

Please follow the instructions below in order to complete your technology project for the fourth 6 weeks. If you have any questions, please ask your teacher:

1.  After logging on to the computer and going to the internet, please go to the following website: www.txindependence.org

2.  Once there, first watch The Road to Independence movie.

3.  When finished with the movie, please click on “Behind the Grievances” tab on the right.

4.  Here, you will be asked to read a grievance the Texans had against the Mexicans that spurred them on to revolution. Your job is to interpret the grievance; when successful you will receive a puzzle piece.

5.  When all puzzle pieces are collected, you are to put the puzzle together. When finished, please raise your hand so the teacher may verify its completion. This will be the first part of your grade. Failure to inform the teacher for verification will result in no grade for this portion of the project.

6.  Following verification of your puzzle, please go back to the main page, and click on the “Delegate Connection” tab on the right.

7.  Using whichever means you choose (Name, Municipality, Face, Birthplace, Namesake Counties, or Arrival Date), pick a delegate that interests you.

8.  The second part of your grade will be based on your creation of a monument or obituary (a published notice of a death, with a brief biography of the deceased) that you design for your chosen delegate. Make sure you read all of the information and include it on your monument or obituary. These MUST be done electronically and saved to your teachers drop box with your name and the word “monument” or “obituary” (See examples below).

9.  If you finish early, unfortunately, you cannot play the game. However, you may do other things on the website (create your own cartoon, analyze the timeline, etc.) or complete unfinished learning.com lessons, but under no circumstance are you to go to any other websites to play games. Failure to follow these instructions will result in disciplinary actions.
