CENTRAL NC BAND FESTIVAL

On Saturday, October 20th the Western Alamance High School Marching Band will be hosting a marching band competition at their school. This event is the Central NC Band Festival which is one of North Carolina’s longest running marching band festivals. The event runs from approximately 12:00pm until 9:30pm. Many Alamance County high school marching bands participate in this festival. The middle school bands of Alamance County will come together to provide music for the opening ceremonies of this event. We will meet at 10:00am on the tennis courts at Western High School. They are located behind the football stadium. The performance will be around noon. Parents will have to pay the admission fee if they want to watch the performance in the stadium. Students are highly encouraged to participate. All student participants will also receive a coupon for a discount on food at the concession stands. We are playing Louie, Louie, Land of 1000 Dances and the Star Spangled Banner.

Attire: Students will need to wear his or her band shirt/hoodie and jeans or shorts for this event.

Directions to WAHS

1)  Get on 40 going west

2)  Get off on exit 141

3)  Make a right off the exit ramp (this is Huffman Mill Rd)

4)  Cross Church St (pass Harris Teeter). When the road dead ends, make a left.

5)  When that road ends, make a right.

6)  Continue straight and the high school will be on your right. After you pass the high school, make a right at the stop light to go behind the school.
