2.2 Sample rules for Prize Competitions in Programmes or assoxciated activities

Additionally, consideration should be given to whether all rules provided here are relevant to every specific competition and whether any other relevant rules should be added. PART 1

Abridged rules to appear in Programme

Note for the Producer: The rules in Part 1 must be made available for the entrants before they enter the competition either through a message on screen or by an oral statement in the presenter’s script as they discuss the competition.

Entries made after the closing date and time will not be entered into the competition but may still be charged.

Additional rules to be included on the printed copy for holidays

10.By entering the competition entrants:

  1. confirm that all information provided by them to [the Company, S4Cor include name of promoter of competition] is correct and that they meet all eligibility criteria for the competition;
  2. agree to be bound by these terms and conditions; and
  3. agree that should they win the competition, their name and photograph may be used by S4C for promotional purposes.

11.The Company and/or S4C reserves the right to request written proof of age of any winner and to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these rules.

12.All entries must be received via the entry methods noted in promotional material and messages for the competition. Entries submitted by any other methods will not be accepted.

13.All taxes, insurances, transfers, spending money and other costs and expenses (including meals or personal expenses) are the sole responsibility of each entrant unless otherwise stated.

14.The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred and there is no cash alternative.

15.The Company and/or S4C reserves the right to substitute the prize, or any part of it, for a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value and the Company or S4C’s decision in this regard is final.

16.Neither the Company nor S4C takes any responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in any communication method used by entrants, or for entries that have not been received before the closing date. Proof of posting, telephone call or sending of text or e-mail cannot be accepted as proof of delivery.

17.Arrangements for delivery or collection of the prize must be made by the winner by [14] days after the closing date. If, by this date, the Company and/or S4C is not able to contact the winner at the contact details provided, or if arrangements for delivery or collection of the prize cannot be made following reasonable attempts by the Company and/or S4C to do so, the Company and/or S4C is entitled to give the prize to a runner up or to use the prize in any future promotion at its absolute discretion.

18.The Company and/or S4C reserves the right to amend these rules or to cancel, alter, or amend the competition at any stage due to events beyond its control.

19.The Company and/or S4C excludes any liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant arising from his or her entry into the competition, or occurring to the winner arising from his or her acceptance of the prize.
