Tournament Time: A scratch meeting will be held in the Hospitality Room, room at 8:00 a.m. Competition will begin at 9:00am and continue until completion of all the tournament brackets.
Format: We will use 1 minute periods. Wrestlers will compete in three, or four-man brackets, and five if need be. This will be done by using beginner, intermediate and advanced divisions, with each wrestler wrestling all the other wrestlers in the bracket. Medals will be awarded to the first and second place finishers in each bracket.
We will use three full competition mats with brackets organized by numbers. We will use a bullpen style format and call out the bracket number according to number of rounds in that bracket. For example: Four-man brackets will be rounds 1-3, and three-man brackets will be rounds 2-3. Wrestlers will need to listen to bracket number and follow order.
Bracket Rotation:4 – Man Bracket3 – Man Bracket
Round 1:A vs B, C vs D, Round 2:A vs B, C vs D
Round 2:A vs C, B vs D, Round 3:A vs C, B vs D
Round 3:A vs D, B vs C,
Tie-Break Criteria:
1. Unsportsmanlike conduct, if tied on record
2. Record
3. Head to head competition, if tied on record
4. Most falls
5 – 8. Most nearfalls/takedowns/reversals/escapes
9 – 10. Least amount of time accumulated in falls/penalty points accumulated
Entry Information
- There will not be weigh-ins for this tournament. Please submit current, accurate information on weights and ability.
- We will need your list of wrestlers, their weights, and beginner, intermediate, or advanced rating on the enclosed form by Thursday, November17th at 8:00 AM
- This submission date allows you to make any necessary changes after practice Wednesday (weight, prior engagements, injuries, etc.)
- E-mail Coach James Morgan at with any scratches and emergency contact info in case of weather by Friday, November18th at 3:00 PM.
- If you have scratches after this, please call Coach Morgan on the way to confirm scratches. This will speed up the scratch meeting process. Cell #816-668-3358.
Parking: Bus and passenger car parking is on the South side of the Gymnasium.
Concessions: Candy, pizza, snacks and drinks will be available at the concession area in the foyer.
Teams/Parents/Fans:may use the mezzanines for a place to eat and relax.
Hospitality: A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, officials, bus drivers, and supervisors only. NO TEAM MANAGERS AND WRESTLERS WILL BE ALLOWED!
Admission will be $3.00 for adults and secondary students $2.00 for elementary students. This will be a one-time admission fee for the day. Due to a tournament and low entry fee no passes will be honored. Managers and team statisticians are a part of the team so they do not have to pay.
Entry Fee: $75.00, payable to Oak Grove R-VI School District.Please submit ASAP.
