Student Application forIndependent Research Project

Independent Research Projects are designed to be completed in either your Junior or Senior year. A QPA of 3.3 is required. With the approval of the appropriate professor, the department chairperson, and the Honors Director, you may select a topic for guided research that is not included in the usual course offerings. You will meet regularly with the professor to review your progress. To receive Honors credit, the results of this Independent Research must be presented at the Honors conference held at the end of the spring semester. Conference presentations are 20 minutes long. Students who joined Honors as first-year students may apply for up to $1,000 to support expenses incurred for their research. The application form is available online on the Honors website/Pleasantville students/Forms; as well as in hard copy in the Honors Office.
