Emailing AVL Articles

For convenience, you can email articles found at AVL to your home computer. Each database works a little differently, so be sure to cut and paste into a word processing document all information you will need to cite the article properly. Refer to the following examples:

Example #1 – At some databases, an e-mail icon is found in the top right-hand corner of the article. Click on the icon, and then type in your e-mail address. Click “send.”

Example #2 – At other databases, at the bottom of the article you may see “e-mail delivery.” Click on this button, and then type in your e-mail address. Click “submit.”

Example #3 – To cut and paste to a word processing program for emailing or saving to a disk

1.  Highlight the entire article or just the sections you need

2.  Click “edit” (on the toolbar at the top of the page)

3.  Choose “copy” from the menu

4.  Open any word processing program (Word, Works, Notepad, etc)

5.  Click “edit.”

6.  Choose” paste” from the menu

7.  Click “file” (on the toolbar at the top of the window)

8.  Choose “save as”

9.  Click on the drop-down box – change to “desktop” if you are emailing or disk drive to save to a disk

10.Choose any file name and type it into the file name box

11.Minimize the word processing program

12.  Open your e-mail account

The following instructions are for Hotmail – other e-mail programs may be a little different:

13.  Click” new message.”

14.  In the”to:” box, type in your own e-mail address.

15.  Click “attach.”

16.  Choose “file.”

17.  Click “browse.”

18.  In the drop-down box, choose “desktop.”

19.  Find your file name (from step 10) and click on it.

20.  Click “OK” (top left hand corner)

21.  Click “send.”
