The meeting was called to order by President, Cherie Slinger, at 5:08 PM
Principal Report
-STS Math – very expensive to purchase
-First in Math – more enrichment, standard test is high from First in Math. Cost is $7 per kid
-582 students enrolled
-It is possible that we will lose a teacher by the 2nd Friday
-Budget is available in the office for all to view
-Still deciding on a nurse – money comes out of discretionary funds
-Computer Assistant –
-Schools will not be paying for an assistant next year
-Teachers will still be free to use computer lab and hope that parents will help out
-PTF cannot pay for it the following year
-Mr. McDade will check on the possibility of us painting the classroom doors and backpack racks
-He would also like us to paint the back wall in the multi purpose room where the art is displayed
Lead Generation Presentation
-Sandi Masori presented this program which gives ability to text and e-mail blast to smart phones
-Demo – type in 619.346.4482 on your phone, then type your name (space) e-mail address
-She offered this program to Dailard for free
President Report
-Pledge Drive
-October 5 will be the cutoff for the incentive of double raffle tickets
-Heather Maxwell is handling numbers of pledge
-Back to School Night is Thursday night at 5pm, Board will be introduced
-Grant Writing
-Julie Nadeau will be writing grants for Dailard. Some need to be submitted by teachers.
-Julie would like direction from teachers on areas of focus
-Possibility of grant for STS Math
Treasurer Report
-Currently $113,567 in bank
-Summer camp made $7,027
-Anna will look into setting up a money market account
-2012 Budget
-Money was taken out of SDSU Football line item as it will be unlikely to make money
-Kettle Corn – 3rd Friday of every month and community events, budget $500, will advertise the week of sales
-Dailard 5k - $300 allocated for expenses, projects $2500 net income
-Performing Arts - $3000 allocated
-Literacy (Book Library)
- 4th grade requests
- Brain Pop – an in-class computed program that can also be accessed from home. $2095 for all school all access, $205 for 3 in school computers
- 5th grade request– grade level presentations
- First in Math – 2-5
- Raz Kids – K-2 - $900
- Brain Pop – 3-5 – 4 licenses - $800
- This will be allocated to Computer Software rather than literacy
- Keep $1000 in literacy for 4th grade teachers – Keegan and Bisciglia
- $2000 for primary grade books
- Site Beautification – Mr. McDade is checking on painting of backpack racks and doors
- Technology maintenance and repair - $1000
- Frank will talk to Mr. Sullivan about music needs for this year
- Community Events - $400 budgeted. Events will be free, and food will be sold
- $1000 to Professional Development – first come, first serve
- $1000 for Mack – He will use $700 for school improvements and supplies, $300 will go towards appreciation for him
- Teachers will work on list of things for him to focus on
- Paper cutter sharpening – Jodi will count sharpeners and meet with guy for planning
- Brag Tags – Starting in 2nd grade. Will see how it works and revisit next year

-Karen will cross train Jodi on website and passwords as a board backup
-Yearbook is officially under technology
Teachers Report
-Teachers can start turning in classroom grant receipts on 9/17
-T-shirts –
-Frank working on prices and will follow-up with Antionette
-Will possibly sell in fall and spring
-Cherie and Anna will come to next staff meeting – Probably next Monday at 2:30
Paper Light
-January 1, 2013 we will go paperless
-Karen will speak with Mr. McDade about PTF having access to Peach Jar account
-Goal is to have Wednesday e-mail notifications to check out all new info
-Text system will be a no for now, may want to revisit next year
-Promote – PTF is going paperless – give us your name and e-mail to stay updated
-Mr. McDade will remind on phone messages
-Flyers will remind about going green
-Remind/announce at Back to School Night – Rebecca will create a sign up form
-Posters about going paperless
-Paper newsletter for October and November in black ink
-Cherie will speak with Western Press about a “Dailard.org” banner
