Permission to hold the Draft Test is granted by the W.D.C. of the NCA. Entries close at the Test Secretary’s home at 5:00 pm on May 1, 2009 or when limit is reached. Entries limited to 12 dog/handler teams. There will be a minimum entry of 5 dog/handler teams. Re-qualifiers will be accepted only if the limit has not been reached. A list of alternates will be kept in the order received. Entries must be postmarked no earlier than April 1, 2009.

Donations to help support the Draft Test will be gratefully accepted. Any donations will be acknowledged in the catalog if received by the Test Secretary before the closing date.
Test Site
A flat grassy area will be used for Basic Control & Harnessing and Hitching exercises. The Maneuvering course and Basic Commands exercises will also be held on a flat grassy area with some natural and some man-made obstacles and narrows.
The Freight Haul course will be a combination of open and narrow trails with grass, dirt, gravel and asphalt surfaces. Slopes will be moderate. This is a public park so there will be plenty of natural distractions.
Equipment
Each exhibitor is responsible for providing his or her own draft test equipment suitable for the site.
Bitches in Season
Bitches in season will be allowed to compete after all the other entries. They should be crated in a designated area away from the official test area.
Dogs not being tested
Dogs not being tested at the time are not permitted in the official Draft Test Areas. Un-entered Dogs must be kept quiet and away from the designated test area.
Safety Observations
1. Dogs must be crated or on leash at all times.
2. When on leash, the length of the leash must not exceed SIX feet and may not be a retractable leash.
3. When on leash, dogs must be under control at all times.
4. Dogs showing uncontrolled or aggressive behavior will be asked by the event chair, a board member, safety officer or other official to leave the site promptly or be crated for the duration of the test. Please review the NCA policy.
Course Familiarization
As specified in the Draft Test Regulations, 90 minutes before the judging, handlers and dogs, except bitches in season, are allowed a 30 minute period to familiarize themselves with the test area. Handlers may walk with their dogs on lead but not hitched to an apparatus. Handlers will not be permitted to walk the Maneuvering or distance freight courses after this time period.

Complimentary coffee, doughnuts, etc. will be available at 8:00 a.m.
Box Lunch at Site
An assortment of sandwich trays and beverages will be available. You must however, order to participate. Cost of the lunch is $8.00. There are grills around the park and fast food eateries close by if you prefer. Lunch orders must be sent to Barb Wikoff by the closing date. There will be no lunches for sale the day of the test.

From the North--- South on interstate 81 to NYS thruway . West on thruway to exit 39, east on interstate 690 to John Glenn Blvd. (exit 4). Follow directions above.

AGREEMENT
I (we) acknowledge that the NCA test regulations have been made available to me (us) and that I am (we are) familiar with their contents. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold this club, its members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or test secretary and the owner or lessor of the premises or grounds and the employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the test premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of the dog by disappearance, theft, damage or injury, caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person or any other causes.
I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time, resulting there from, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this test, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or other persons.
