Everything You Need to

Know About the St. Peter Mission Party

The St. Peter Mission Party is an annual event that has been happening each year on President’s Day for over 70 years. It is hosted by the Home & School Association, and includes a Carnival, White Elephant Sale, Sweet Shop, and a Student Raffle. It’s always held in the Selinger Center, and this year it’s on Monday, February 15, 2016.

The carnival is held in the Selinger gym and boasts fun games, and a prize booth. There is also a children’s raffle where students can purchase a chance to win items geared toward each grade level. Again, this year we will have KARAOKE! All the singing fun will take place in the Haven, above the Selinger Center. Downstairs in the Selinger cafeteria, the tradition of the White Elephant sale continues. This is where students can buy gently used items that have been donated by the parish and school families. Some students say this is their favorite part of the Mission Party event, and parents are always on the edge of their seat waiting to see what treasures their kids will bring home! Also downstairs is the beloved Sweet Shop. Don’t look for your kids to be very hungry for dinner that night! J

The proceeds raised from all of these venues help support the Sisters of Notre Dame Missions and the Teacher Wish List which is administered by the Home & School Association. These are both very worthy recipients of the funds.

Like a carnival, tickets are required to play the games, as well as purchase items at the White Elephant Sale, the Sweet Shop and chances at the Children’s Raffle booth. Kindergarten parents will receive a special letter with instructions on how to pre-purchase their tickets. Tickets will be 25 cents each. Each game cost one ticket with the exception of Karaoke which is 4 tickets ($1.00) per song. Cash will also be accepted at the White Elephant booth and Sweet Shop. We highly recommend that you send the money with your child in a labeled plastic bag, coin purse or wallet. In addition, remember to send another bag with them to carry home all their treasures! Lunch plans remain the same as any other school day. Families, parents and siblings are welcome to attend the Mission Party. The schedule below shows when each grade gets to join the party. If you attend, you must meet your child at the Selinger Center.

1st-4th grades 9:00 am – 11:15 am

5th-8th grades 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

We want to thank all those parents who have already put in time, talent and effort toward the planning of this year’s Mission Party and thank all of those who will be helping that day as well! The Mission Party’s success depends on all of you! SO THANK YOU AGAIN!
