Grammar Remediation

First, know that this is intended for your benefit, not as a punishment. I don’t want you to continue moving forward without learning the skills and information that you were not taught somewhere along the way and that will help you be more successful in the future.Remediation will consist of practice packets, lesson review sessions, exam review, and corrections. Practice packets must be complete (highlight review sheets and complete practice questions) BEFORE being allowed to attend the lesson review session for that category.

Test grade below 65%:

1)  Practice Packets: All 5 must be completed

2)  Lesson Review Sessions: Must attend at least 3 of your choice

3)  Exam Review: Must attend 1

4)  Corrections: Must complete corrections with explanations and receive a passing grade of 80%

Test grade between 65% and 80%:

1)  Practice Packets: Must complete 3 of 5 (choose the ones you need help on!)

2)  Lesson Review Sessions: Must attend at least 1 of your choice

3)  Exam Review: Must attend 1

4)  Corrections: Must complete corrections with explanations and receive a passing grade of 80%


LESSON REVIEW SESSIONS

Parts of Speech: Monday, Nov. 2, 7:20

Subjects/Predicates; Direct/Indirect Objects; Predicate Adj/Nominatives: Monday, Nov. 2, 3:20

Phrases: Appositives, Prepositional, Participial, Gerunds, Infinitives: Tuesday, Nov. 3, 7:20 or 3:20

Clauses and Sentence Structure: Wednesday, Oct. 4, 7:20 or 3:20

Fragments and Run-ons: Thursday, Oct. 5, 7:20


EXAM REVIEW SESSIONS & CORRECTION DATES

Mandatory Exam Review: Tuesday, Nov. 10, 7:20 or 3:20

Corrections: Wednesday, Nov 11 3:20; Friday, Nov. 13 7:20 or 3:20


You must complete remediation requirements AND correct the test to 80% or higher by November 13th. The grade for your grammar test is currently exempt, and therefore not affecting your grade, but if you fail to complete remediation on time, a zero will be entered for your test grade.
