Wax Museum Project
You will be portraying a famous person for our “wax museum”. Here are some tips to follow:
1. Learn all you can about that person – become an expert.
2. Try to find a picture of that person to gather ideas for costumes and/or props.
3. Choose information that will inform people and/or surprise them.
4. Write a monologue using as much information as you can. The monologue must be in the first person and you must memorize it.
5. Start thinking about props and costumes to portray your character. Keep it simple.
You will be graded on this project. There will be a possible 100 points broken down as follows:
25 points for research efforts – use textbooks, encyclopedias, biographies, news articles, computer sources. You only want information that will fill in your outline.
25 points for your monologue – you must write it using the information you researched, memorize it, and present it. (index cards will be supplied if you require cue cards)
25 points for props – costumes are not required; however they are more than welcome. One or two props are essential.
25 points for presentation – you must stay focused and in character at the museum, seriousness of purpose is important.
