Minor Guest Policy

In order to ensure a pleasant vacation and satisfying cruise experience for all guests on our ships, the following policies must be adhered to or will result in cancellation of the group booking, regardless of when Carnival recognizes this fact.

Carnival’s policy defines minors as any guests under 21 years of age. Each cabin with guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same cabin by their parent, grandparent or legal guardian who is over 25 years of age.

In cases when the parents purchase a second cabin for their children, the minor children will not have to be in the same cabin as their parent, grandparent or legal guardian in this case, but must occupy an adjacent cabin. Cabins must be purchased on the same deck to accommodate this requirement and advance cabin assignment may be necessary with names and full per person deposits.

However, the minors in the adjacent cabin must be related to the adults. So if friends of the family are traveling, these guests under 21 must be in the cabin with the responsible parent. They cannot be in the adjacent cabin. The Parent Permission form must be signed and submitted with final payment for any minor traveling without parents, grandparents or legal guardian, as in the instance of an accompanying friend traveling in a cabin with a family.

Minors under 21 years of age who are married and sailing together can sail without a Parent Permission form. The couple must provide their marriage certificate at embarkation to avoid being denied boarding.

It is important that this information is fully conveyed and explained by you to the potential members of the group. If all requirements are not met, we will not accept the booking(s) or we will reserve the right to cancel the affected booking at any time we recognize a situation that does not comply with the policy.

By taking such measures, we can maintain the level of service that you and your clients are accustomed to on Carnival. We appreciate your continued support.

Please call if you have questions or require additional information.

2.The legal drinking age onboard is 21 and is strictly enforced. We do not permit the purchase of drinks or bottles of liquor by adults for minors. Possession of alcohol by a minor will not be tolerated and any found will be confiscated (even if found in cabin).

3.Purchase, possession and consumption of drugs is illegal.

9.Our shipboard credit program (“Sail & Sign”) requires either a minimum $100.00 cash deposit or a credit card, (American Express, Discover, VISA or MasterCard) IN THE GUEST’S OWN NAME, presented at check-in. The credit card companies prohibit use of an account other than that of the traveling guest. If desired, a cash deposit for the “Sail & Sign” card may be forwarded to Carnival via your group leader with the final payment or at latest, by 30 days prior to sailing. This step will eliminate the inconvenience of long lines on board the ship on embarkation day. The guest is responsible to keep a positive cash balance at all times during the cruise. If there is an overage on the account, the guest is issued a check on board the morning of debarkation day with a copy of the final statement.

Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in the offender(s) being removed from the ship to make his or her own way home. Alternatively, the disruptive guest(s) may be confined to their stateroom for the duration of the voyage.
