Key Course Objectives

Develop skills of forklift operators thatimprove their handling ability and in turn result in reduced wear & tear
and decrease chances of accidents

Course Outline

Day 1

  • MODULE 1– Theory supported by an audiovisual presentation involving:

–Principals of operating a forklift: fulcrum,equilibrium, different centres of gravity and principles of stability

–Major forklift components and controls

–Pre-start-up, start-up & close-down checks

–Refuelling (diesel/petrol & gas)

–Recognising different loads

–Stacking and de-stacking & loading and off-loading

–Safety aspects on all levels while operating the forklift

  • MODULE 2 –In-Forklift Instruction

–Practical session including pre-start-up & start-up checks as well asworking with obstacles which trainees
will have to overcome to enable them to calculate and think ahead in order to make correct decisions

Day 2

  • MODULE 3 – Final Evaluation

–Certificates will be issued to trainees who pass both the theoretical and practical tests (valid for 24 months)

  • Licensed Forklift Drivers

Note: Candidate must be in possession of a VALID OPERATOR LICENSE i.e. license has not expired longer than 30 days after indicated date of expiry. Candidates with expired licenses will only be allowed to register for novice training (Forklift Operator License Training) and not for re-certification training

  • Proof of valid operators license(s) must accompany the application form

Course Rates

Training Rates are calculated according to the NLA Training Rate Schedule 2014*

NLA Members: N$ 858 + VAT pp

Non-NLA Members: N$ 936 + VAT pp

NOTE: A Facilitation fee will be charged for training facilitation done outside of Windhoek

Course fee includes registration, examination, course material, certificate of completion, license tag, coffee / tea breaks & snacks.

Terms & Conditions

Please do not make any payments before we have invoiced you. Requests for refunds for payments received without prior invoicing from NLA will require a 30 (thirty) day window period after receipt of such funds, before any refunds will be made or considered.

Payments for training events are payable on presentation of invoice and not exceeding 5 (five) days of date of invoice.

The balance of the invoice issued for the training course(s) needs to be settled IN FULL at least 2 weeks PRIOR to commencement of the course.

Failure to submit proof of payment by 2 (two) weeks prior to commencement of training will result in CANCELLATION of bookings made. No refunds will be made.

You may substitute delegates, in writing, prior to commencement of the event

Once you have been invoiced, you will be liable for payment. Cancellation does not waiver payment should you wish to cancel before payment was made. Cancellation allows you to qualify for credit, if same is received by us in writing by no later than 7 (seven) days prior to the start of an event. Cancellations received less than 7 (seven) days prior to the start of an event, will forfeit the credit. No refunds will be made.

Registered candidates, who fail to report for training, will be viewed as ‘no shows’ and will still be liable for full payment.

Only electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments accepted. No cheques or cash accepted.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, NLA reserves the right to postpone, cancel and change the training course venue or the date at any time deemed necessary. In the event of NLA cancelling an event, NLA will issue a 100% (One Hundred Percent) credit for the amount paid for the event, to be used towards any future NLA event.

Certificate and / or license tag fees are included in the course fee and will therefore be issued to successful candidates on condition that the balance of such invoice has been settled in full. Certificates are issued within 2-weeks after presentation of the training course. Unforeseen circumstances however, are not taken into account of the period provided.
