PSYC 5: CHEAPER TEXTBOOK SOLUTIONS
Greetings Students! Please note that for your online course you have one required textbook:
Strong, B., Yarber, W. L., Sayad, B. W., DeVault, C. (2007). Human Sexuality: Diversity in Contemporary America. New York: McGraw-Hill, 6th edition
The ISBN number for this text is: 978-0-07-312911-2
These texts are available in the bookstore, but during the current economic crisis, paying full-price for a textbook can be a huge burden. Please consult these cheaper online alternatives (keep in mind your first reading assignment is due 5/27/09).
1) Amazon Used-Books Sellers have several used versions of the 6th Edition of this book. You don’t have to have the CD that comes with the book, so don’t worry if they don’t offer it:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0072860499/ref=ed_oe_p_olp
2) Buying the 5th Edition: While it may have slightly different chapter arrangements and content, the core of the older edition is very much the same. If you cannot find a cheap 6th edition then this may be preferable. Some students have found cheap 5th editions on this website:

(please contact me if you buy the 5th edition and notice discrepancies between the course material and this version- when in doubt, trust the lectures, they are more up-to-date).
3) A copy of the text will be on-reserve in the library. If you are at Saddleback a lot then this might work for you; however be wary that there may be several students wanting to use the text at the same time as you.
Finally, let me know if you find any other good places to buy this book on the cheap and I will pass the info along!
In the next few weeks, your Blackboard site for the class will be made available and the course syllabus will be posted there and on my website at

See you online on 2/2, until then, take care! – Kelly
