Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – San Marcos Optimist Club
San Marcos, TX, September 17, 2009 – San Marcos Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the San Marcos Optimist club at Ernie’s Paint and Body Shop on Thursday, Sept. 17th. Ernie’s Paint and Body shop was chosen for the location of the Ribbon Cutting ceremony because of their dedication and sponsorship, also, the Valdez family were the founding members of the club. Although the Optimist Club is already a member of the Chamber they asked to have a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to reintroduce the club to their community.
Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids.
The San Marcos Club meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month in the TCOR Insurance Management conference room. For more information call 512-757-1649.
