Asociación Pro Arte y Cultura – APAC, invites both national and international theater groups and stage art troupes (dance, pantomime, circus artists, multidisciplinary spectacles, puppet theaters, etc.) to participate in the IX “Santa Cruz de la Sierra” International Theater Festival, which will take place from April 18 to 28, 2013.

Basis:


1.- Applicants must have demonstrated artistic quality and a minimum trajectory of four years as a group and/or four years minimum for each of its members. Exceptions may be made in cases in which the quality of the work merits inclusion in the programming. Artists directly invited by the organization will participate.

2.- Theater groups from anywhere in the world and of any theater genre or stage art may participate. Those interested in participating must send a letter of application, and fill our and sign the application for participation (download) and attach the requested materials to it. Your signature will be taken as your acceptance of the bases for, and your agreement with, the organization’s decision.

3.- Materials will be received as of the date of publication of this invitation. The application deadline is 30 August 2012. Applications post-dated after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.

4.- The Festival Organizing Committee will send an official invitation to selected groups by the 31st of January, 2013. Groups not selected for this version of the Festival will not be contacted.

5.- The Festival will retain the materials sent in by groups not selected, for future consideration.

6.- APAC will cover food and accommodations for national and foreign groups for a maximum of 5 days (except in very special cases), as well as inter-provincial transportation and two-way hotel shuttle costs. Foreign participants must cover their own airfare, overland or marine transport from their place of origin to the Festival location as well as any luggage or cargo costs.

7.- The organization agrees to take all steps within its reach with the institutions in your respective countries, to ensure funding for the group’s travel and cachet. It will do this only for selected groups, as the need arises, inasmuch as information and coordination allow.

8.- APAC will cover accommodations, food and inter-provincial transportation for local groups when they make presentations in the provinces. Within the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, they will be provided lunch and dinner on the day their play or sketch is presented, if the group first confirms this will be desired.

9.- The organization will cover the costs of accommodations in Hotels and/or hostels, as well as three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the agreed days. If the artists arrive before and/or leave after the indicated dates, the organization will not take responsibility for those additional days.
10.- Group participants who do not act in the play or sketch or accompanying members who have not been invited by the organization are not allowed to participate. Additional members or accompanying members who wish to participate in the festival must pay their own way including accommodations and meals and will have no right to courtesy tickets.

11.- APAC will not give out courtesy tickets to participating groups for their own presentations, but will give out 5 courtesy tickets per group member for presentations by other groups, having first verified that those requesting tickets can actually attend the presentations, based on scheduling.

12.- The Festival will collaborate with each Group that will participate in the Festival with the production of the set (stage scenery) and technical assistance; however, each group is responsible for ensuring its needs are made known and for coordinating with the technicians responsible for stage aspects, such as sound, lights, etc. (deadline 25 February 2013). All requirements made known alter the deadline will absolutely and completely be the responsibility of each group.

13.- The festival will provide Basic stage materials and technical support, while special equipment must be provided by each Group. APAC will not provide any type of microphones for performances; therefore, each group must provide them. If at the suggestion of the schedulers, the Section Committee deems it convenient to make an exception in terms of a technically complex proposal, after having obtained approval from the Festival Management, the necessary steps will, sufficiently in advance, for said performance.

14.- During the Festival parallel events such as seminars, workshops, encounters, etc., will take place in which the groups or some of their members may be invited to participate, either as presenters, conference speakers, critics, observers, or others. All participants invited are obligated to participate in parallel activities to which they are invited.

15.- The groups are obligated to collaborate with the press department, be this by facilitating press materials or by agreeing to interviews.
