Talking Lesson

Copy the paragraph below on a separate sheet of paper. If you complain when you receive this paper, you will also need to copy the complaining paragraph. Failure to copy this page will result in a referral.

I am copying this paragraph because I have been talking when I should have been silent. I realize that by talking when I should be listening, I am not only missing important information, but more importantly, I am acting quite rudely. This behavior is rude because it prevents the teacher from being able to continue with the lesson. It is also rude because it prevents other people from being able to hear what is going on. We only have a limited amount of time every day, so it is not okay for me to waste other people’s time. However, I am learning from my mistakes, and I will copy this page as many times as it takes to prove that I have learned what sort of behavior is expected in the classroom. I will not speak unless called upon, and I will raise my hand if I have something I would like to say, or a question I would like the answer to. Hopefully, I won’t find myself copying this paper again in the future.

Complaining paragraph:

Another rude behavior that I need to break is being disruptive by complaining. I am slowly learning that if I have a complaint, or feel that I have been treated unfairly, I should wait until after class and discuss the problem with the teacher then. If I have received this paper, then it is because the teacher has reason to believe that my behavior is disruptive, and is preventing others from learning. Complaining about receiving this page is also disruptive, and it is not okay, so I will copy this complaining paragraph as many times as it takes to remember that.
