There have been a LOT of ups & downs in the process of getting this enduro approved & authorized. It has been both a trying experience, with a number of disappointments, & a rewarding one, considering some of the original obstacles that have been dealt with & overcome. My long-range ultimate goal remains what it has been since the very beginning of my involvement with the Chickasawhay District: to get the Ridgerunners Club ‘re-established’ on the District in order to have their future enduro events & to eventually establish a Designated Trail System for Off-Highway Motorcycles. It continues to be a lot like a roller-coaster ride (or a really tough enduro), with regard to positive accomplishments & negative set-backs, but I do not foresee letting up on my desire to reach the ultimate goal. Some recent developments in the “Me & The Forest Service Relationship” appear to hold real promise. I hope that I can count on the continued support of the enduro-riding community, if it only involves showing up to ride the event & demonstrate further to the Forest Service that we are a responsible group of National Forest Users who deserve the respect & cooperation of the Agency.

I am looking forward to a successful event. There are likely to be some things which some riders will thoroughly enjoy & some things which some riders will be disappointed with. Such is the nature of enduros. I do believe that we have put together an event which will prove to be a fun (based on the twisted enduro-rider definition of the term fun) ride & a functional enduro. Everyone is cordially invited to come out to take part in what, with any luck at all, will be the first of many more events to come on the Chickasawhay District. It’s everyone’s chance to be a part of a grass-roots movement to keep the enduro at Tiger Creek from becoming just another memory on the growing list of ‘enduros that don’t exist anymore.’

I look forward to seeing a large crowd of enthusiastic enduro riders on Race-Day.
