Dear Friend,

In his book Where the Wild things Are, Maurice Sendak takes Max on a journey to a magical island where the wild things “roar their terrible roars and gnash their terrible teeth and roll their terrible eyes and show their terrible claws.” In many ways, the children we see come from hard places and have spent the early years of their childhood “where the wild things are.” They come from orphanages, chaotic birth families or difficult pregnancies. These beginnings harm their capacity for forming healthy attachments with their forever families.

That’s where Miriam’s Promise comes in. Our highly-trained staff is there to equip parents with the ability to tame the “wild things” their children face. Through preparation, one-on-one counseling and parenting coaching, we are able to teach both parents and children to “stare into all their yellow eyes without blinking once” and frighten the “wild things” away.

On September 28, 2015, over 100 golfers and volunteers will come together to tame the “wild things” our children confront. I would like to invite you to help. Through your financial gift you will be helping the hundreds of people coping with issues of grief, loss and transition that seek the help they need from Miriam’s Promise. Not only will your gift help tame the “wild things” our children confront every day, it will enable Miriam’s Promise to offer free pregnancy counseling to young women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Your gift will empower Miriam’s Promise to help those who are seeking to grow their family through adoption. Your gift will help bring children home to their forever families. Your gift will change lives!

I sincerely hope I can count on you to help Miriam’s Promise and I tame the “wild things” our children are facing. If you feel you can do so, simply fill out the enclosed form and include it with your check. You may also give online at www.miriamspromise.org. Please be sure to note which golfer with whom you are partnering.

Thank you in advance for your support of Miriam’s Promise and the precious population we serve.

Blessings,

Miriam’s Promise Golfer
