Concepts for the Week
Reading: count syllables in words, identify rhyming words, identify beginning sounds in words, tell what sound each letter makes, recall the setting of a story, identify and describe the characters of a story, and describe illustrations in a story

Extra Practice: Write down letter sounds, Identify ending sounds, say the sounds in three letter words. c/a/t

Letter Identification: Review all letters and their sounds

Sight words: I, am, the, see, to, little, a, can, play, have, is, we, my, like, he

Language Arts/Writing:The students are beginning to write sentences on their own. Please practice writing simple sentences. Call out a sentence and have the student write it. Ex. I can see a cat.

Math: Addition: Begin to add two numbers together. For example: three and one more is four. 3 and 1 is 4.Create and identify new amounts by putting one more to a given group.
Subtraction: Begin to take a number from a given amount. One less than 3 is 2.
Count to 20, count and write objects/pictures up to 20.

Science: This week we will be learning about American Symbols and Thanksgiving. We will learn why we celebrate Thanksgiving and the importance of family.

Additional things to work on at home:
*Write first name. *Identify and write all letters.*Identify numbers to 20. *Write numbers to 20. *Tying shoes *States birthdate, including the year. Count orally to 50.

Notes from the Teacher:

•Our Thanksgiving meal is scheduled for Friday November 18th. If you did not purchase a meal ticket, you can still come sit with your child during lunch.

•Breitling is having its annual Alabama/Auburn penny drop. If you would like for your child to donate money for Leukemia/Lymphoma research, please send change to your child’s teacher.
