The Health and Wellbeing Service are delighted to inform you of their updated and refreshed training programme. This year they are very excited to announce an online booking system that will make booking on their courses even easier for you and your colleagues. Manchester City Council wants your views on alcohol early intervention and treatment services, to help them decide how to improve them. These services help people understand how alcohol affects them and those around them, and they help people manage, reduce or stop their drinking. A quarter of Manchester's adults could be drinking to risky levels. You don't have to be involved in alcohol services to do the survey – we want everyone's views. The closing date is Friday 8 August. ·  Diary Date

The next forum meetings take place on Monday 21st July and Friday 25th July, 12.30 to 2.45pm. Instead of the usual Forum agenda, we have arranged for Pam Southcombe Clinical Screening and Imms Coordinator, PHE, to deliver the 2014 Immunisations training update (including Seasonal Flu update). Please note that the training package takes 2 ¼ hours and therefore the Forum sessions have been extended and will commence 12.30 until 2.45 pm. The meetings will take place at Unit 73, Cariocca Centre, 2 Sawley Road, Miles Platting, M40 8BB. Lunch is provided and the meeting will be facilitated by Fiona Wong. If you have already booked on the training at Piccadilly Place, but will be attending the Forum instead, please ensure that you cancel your place with PHE as they have a waiting list. ·  Ear Care Training - 16th October 2014

You will recall that earlier in the year, I asked for expressions of interest in Ear Care Training for Practice Nurses. The course that has been arranged in conjunction with Stockport CCG, will be held on Thursday, 16th October 2014, at Staircase House, 30 - 31 the Market Place, Stockport, SK1 1ES. The cost is £100. This is a full day, classroom based, Initial Clinical Excellence in Ear Care Course suitable for Registered Nurses who have never undertaken Ear Care Training or who received training more than 3 years ago. Those of you who expressed an interest will shortly be receiving an email requesting confirmation of your booking.
