Conditions, Rules, and Regulations

1. I authorize myself or my child to participate in the aquatic programming at The Athletic Club. I recognize that The Athletic Club shall not be liable for any claims for injuries or damages whatsoever to person or property of the person or of a guest of the person arising out of or connected with the use of the fitness centre. Parents agree to indemnify and to hold the centre and its employees harmless from claims by or liability to a parent or parent’s guests for those claims arising out of the center’s knowingly failure to correct a dangerous situation brought to its attention.

2. The Athletic Club does not act as a bailee of personal property of any member and shall not be liable for theft, loss, or damage to the personal property and effects of any person. I understand that I have access to a locker for day usage only and that I am responsible for securing that locker.

3. Each parent agrees to keep and obey all rules and regulations now in force or in future prescribed by The Athletic Club and The Athletic Club shall have the right to revoke membership for cause, if any member fails to keep and obey all such rules and regulations, without refund of the buyer for any monies paid to The Athletic Club to any assignee or the aforementioned negotiable instrument. Each person agrees that while using facilities, he or she will conduct himself in any way which shall not represent a danger to or creates a nuisance for the staff or the other persons using the facilities or disrupts the staff carrying out their duties.

Rules and Regulations

a) Members must have their swipe card with them upon each entry to the fitness centre. Non-Members must purchase a guest pass upon each entry to The Athletic Club.

b) Shaving in the showers or saunas is strictly prohibited.

c) Absolutely no street shoes, bags or other items will be allowed on the pool deck.

d) Boisterous behaviour is not permitted with The Athletic Club. Severe consequences will result for misbehaviour including termination of membership.

e) All Non-Members will not be granted access into the facility, other than the pool.

f) Spectators are prohibited from entering the pool enclosure and may view aquatic programming from the lounge area.

g) All swimmers must shower before entering and re-entering the pool enclosure.

h) Rules may be changed or adapted without notice to maintain our high standards.

Withdraw, Transfer or Cancellation of Lesson(s)

Withdraw or Transfer of Classes

If the member wants to transfer or withdraw before the class starts for any reason the member is entitled to the following:

Transfer to another course – They can transfer the amount paid for registration to another course of the same value pending availability.

Credit – Credit in the form of a gift certificate. Gift certificates may be used for any program, service or membership options available at the Athletic Club. The credit will be for the full pro-rated amount.

Refund – A partial refund (course fees less an $8.00 administration fee) will be issued

If the member wants to transfer or withdraw after the start date and time of the class

Transfer to another course – The member has the opportunity to transfer to another class, for the reason that the child does not fit in to the class, and the member has discussed this with the instructor/ head lifeguard who feel that moving the child would be beneficial

Credit or Refund – No refunds or credits will be issued after the program starts, UNLESS it is due to a medical issue supported with a letter from their doctor. Extreme circumstances maybe discussed with management.

Cancellation of Classes

Missed Group Lessons – If a member calls to say that they will be missing their group lesson please leave a note in the instructor’s mailbox. It is not necessary to leave a message on the lifeguard’s mailbox or phone the instructor as it does not affect the instructors hours.

Missed Private Lessons – If a member calls to say that they will be missing their private lesson please contact the instructor or Head lifeguard. If a member is cancelling with less than 24 hours notice it is important to politely remind them that our cancelation policy states, lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be lost.

Minimum Enrollment & Class Cancellation- Each program has a minimum enrollment and as such programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met. All members will be notified at this time and registration payments will not be processed.

Class/Lesson Time Change- TAC reserves the right to change class times based on instructor and pool availability.
