Come start the month of March with a fun weekend of winter activities!!!

Saturday, March 3, 2018 ---Biathlon Sprint Race(Air rifle) O’Cup # 2

Registration is from 10:30a.m. until 11:30 a.m., zeroing is at 12:00 p.m. and the race starts at 1:15 p.m.

Give the sport of Biathlon a try! Combining the athleticism and grace of skiing with the exactitude and calm needed for precision shooting. This Olympic sport is the most exciting and most watched sport in Europe. Most sprint races are two bouts of shooting and three legs of the ski course but for this weekend we are adding an extra bout of shooting therefore there will be an extra leg of the ski course and of course more penalty loops if missed targets are incurred! If you don’t own a biathlon air rifle, or you’ve never shot before, no problem, as long as you can ski 3km, we will lend you an air rifle and teach the rudiments during the zeroing period before the race. Medals and prizes will be awarded at a Potluck Supper to be held at the Anglican Church hall from 4 to 6 pm.More information is available on the BION website.

Sunday, March 4, 2018 ---A good old fashioned cross country ski race (skating or classic)

Registration is from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and the race starts at 12:30 p.m.

Get to experience the beautiful Boom Camp Cross Country Ski Trails, it’s flora and fauna! A camp fire, hot dogs, a hearty bowl of chili and hot apple cider will available for a reasonable price on your arrival at the chalet. Admission price for Blind River Cross Country Ski members; $10 a person, $5 for students, $2 for racers 8 and under and for non-members; 20$ a person, $10 for students, $5 for racers 8 and under. Ski rentals available for a very reasonable price, boot sizes 27 to 45 (European). Prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m at the Boom Camp Chalet.
